Dear Sirs

I am a finnish photojournalist Jore Puusa, age 61 years, living near the capital of Finland, Helsinki. 

I covered for UPI the story about  death and funeral of Jomo Kenyatta in 1978. During that week I grew a deep respect towards Your nation and people. I have my own blog concentrating on photojournalism critics. I´m making a story about western photojournalists in Africa and I would like to ask You to kindly have some time to answer my questions?

1. How do You feel, when an European photographer comes to Your country and makes a photoessay of female circumcision of young girls.

2. When the main paper here made a big story of that matter, what kind of feelings does that arise?

3. The photographer who did the story told, that she has asked permission to take pictures in that village she went. Do You think that rural villagers could understand what happens if those pictures go to web / internet.

4. How do You feel about the security of those villagers and girls after pictures are published and people in Kenya sees those pictures. Could girls or villagers be harmed because circumcision is a matter of shame and taboo.

5. How does Your staff personally feel about this kind of journalism..Is is good or exploitation or…

No mutta…ihme ja kumma... löytyi kuvitukseksi Jomo Kenyattan katafalkkikuva vuodelta 1978. Repron repro, koska Museovirasto esttää minulta vanhoihin kuviini käsiksipääsyn.

Haluaisit varmaan huomauttaa minua kasvoihin tunkeutuvasta ruusumaljakosta. Jokainen lehtikuvaaja tietää mitä tarkoittaa "naruneliö".
Se on köysillä rajattu paikka, johon lehtikuvaajat ohjataan. Siellä olet ja kuvaat. Siirtyminen ja komposition muuttaminen ei onnistu.
